Does Compassion-Focused Therapy-Based Online Intervention Work for Chinese International Students With High Self-Criticism? A Randomized Controlled Trail

Self-criticism represents a central phenomenon among variety of psychological distress and has been shown to relate the motivational systems competing social ranking. The purpose our study was test effect online compassion-focused therapy (CFT)-based intervention (CFI) on Chinese international students in South Korea suffering from high self-criticism related distress. Thirty-two with level were randomized either four-session CFI group, rational emotive behavior (REBT)—based self-help approach or wait-list (WL) control group. results suggest that group demonstrated significant improvements self-criticism, compassion, depression, anxiety, shame, these greater than those REBT WL groups. Our work provides evidence offers possible for reducing increasing compassion young populations.
